About myself

Me with my shortest haircut everI am Michael Pidde, a spirited young web and software developer hailing from the frozen tundra of the United States, known to some as Minnesota.

I am currently polishing off an A.A.S. degree in Software Development at Minneapolis Community & Tech. In my spare time I'm working on this little gem or I'm out and about finding more web site work. While my studies are tailored (somewhat) for the development of desktop applications, I would like to apply my skills to the internet. I have 4+ years of experience in making web sites—it's what I feel I'm here for.

In my other spare time (yes, there's more), I have the supreme pleasure of spending time with my girlfriend, Sharon. We can usually be reached at Destiny Christian Church, Cub Foods, or Panera Bread.

Regarding Faith

I am a Christian. I wish it was enough to leave it at that, but we live in days of names, titles, aliases, and other shifting and subjective identifiers. So what exactly am I saying?

...

I wish that I knew. I'm still figuring out my beliefs, and it's going to be a long process. But allow me to give you a brief few ideas:

  • I believe in God, Adonai, the Creator of heaven and earth.
  • Yeshua (Jesus) was a righteous man Who had righteous union with God.
  • Yeshua's teaching can bring us similar righteous union with God.

That's about as deep as I can go right now. I'm sure that in the future, this section will be more dynamic, and surely it will be edited to fit my growing beliefs. But for now, simplicity is key.

What's in a Title?

There is plenty of meaning that can be gleaned from the title Passage of Enoch. Do read Genesis 5:23-24 if you have not yet (it can be seen in my header).

First we read that Enoch lived 365 years. This is related in an elementary way with our wordly 365 days in a year. My intent for this journal is to chronicle the progress of my life over these 365 days of 2007 (or 5767, perhaps). One year may present dramatic change (as I know the last has), and my goal is to portray that.

In verse 24a we read that "Enoch walked with God." This may be literal which we can assume by 24b in which "he was not, for God took him." More realistically, and probably more correctly, it means that we don't know how he died. But 24a more directly speaks of how Enoch lived his life. This verse tells of a man who lived in a way that I desire to. It tells of a man who "walked with God," who was holy and righteous, and who followed God's command to the end. Telling of my transition to this man's way of life is the essential purpose of this journal.
